CENTRE FOR INDUSTRIAL PORT EXPERTISE

A DIVISION OF INREST

Mission

The Centre for Industrial Port Expertise (Centre d’Expertise Industrialo-Portuaire - CEIP) aims to offer services and scientific expertise in environment and occupational health. Experts and researchers from various sectors provide industry and port managers from the St. Lawrence, Quebec, Canada, and abroad, with centralized services in research and development, as well as technical support adapted to issues relating to the environmental challenges of managing and operating industrial port zones. All this is done in accordance with the Environmental Quality Act, the Sustainable Development Act, the Environmental Assessment Act, and any other applicable legislation.

Any business, industry, government organisation, municipality, Indigenous community, port authority, and harbour, can become a member of CEIP by submitting an application and paying the required registration fee.

CIRSIP 2019

The Institut Nordique de Recherche en Environnement et en Santé au Travail (INREST), the Port of Sept-Îles and the City of Sept-Îles, in partnership with the pan-Canadian project CHONe II, held the first International Congress on Industrial Port Research in Sept-Îles, from May 27-31, 2019.

Environmental Monitoring Observatory of the Bay of Sept-Îles

The Bay of Sept-Îles hosts one of the largest ports in Canada and plays host to world-class businesses in its surrounding area. In the context of today's sustainable developmentaround the bay, it seemed essential to establish a baseline for the local environment.

Air quality

The round table on air quality in Sept-Îles was created in October 2012, and was derived from an initiative from the  Corporation de protection de l’environnement de Sept-Îles with the support of the City of Sept-Îles, and in collaboration with stakeholders from the government, municipalities, businesses, the environment, and representatives of regional citizens.
